Once again the artist is inspired by her immediate surroundings: the view from her Vienna apartment is marked by rooftops, antennae and church spires, and many houses in Kitzbühel, Tirol, are “decorated” with satellite dishes.

On the content level, Flora Zimmeter is intrigued by aerials as receivers of messages from all over the world (news, clichés…). They help establish global uniformity and are monuments to our time and culture.

The formal aspects which strike her are the linear clarity of the aerials and the round or elliptical shapes of the satellite dishes.
